Pricing model
Checkatrade charges tradespeople a paid membership. Pricing varies by trade and region; the current rates are published on their tradesperson membership page [VERIFY: link target before publish]. Contract term: see Checkatrade’s published terms.
HeroTaskercharges nothing for tradespeople: we don’t charge a subscription, per-lead fees, or commission. We may add optional paid extras in future; we’ll publish them on our pricing page before charging.
Verification
Checkatrade runs a vetting process on member tradespeople; details on their vetting page [VERIFY: link target before publish].
HeroTaskerverifies a tradesperson’s phone via SMS at signup (the green-tick on a profile). We do not verify qualifications, insurance, or trade-body membership. Customers should ask for and check those directly before booking.
Reviews
Checkatrade displays customer reviews and star ratings on member profiles.
HeroTaskerdoes not yet offer reviews; we’re working on this for a future release.
Payments
Neither HeroTasker nor Checkatrade handles payment between customer and tradesperson. The money flows direct.
How to decide
If Checkatrade’s vetting and review base are worth the membership fee for your business, Checkatrade is well-established and has substantial customer volume. If you’d rather list somewhere free and add HeroTasker alongside whatever you already use, there’s no exclusivity here — list with both.
