Tradesperson principles

When you sign up as a tradesperson on HeroTasker, you agree to the commitments below. They are short on purpose — the bar is the kind of behaviour you would want from someone working in your own home.

Plumber arriving for a job, tools in hand
  1. 01

Show up when you say you will.

If you can’t make it, message the customer as soon as you know. Rescheduling is fine; ghosting is not.

  2. 02

    Communicate clearly.

Reply to questions. Confirm details before you turn up. Send a quick update if the job slips. Most disputes start with a silent week.

  3. 03

    Deliver what you bid.

Honour the price you put in your offer. If the scope changes mid-job, agree the new price in the chat before you do the extra work.

  4. 04

    No hidden fees.

Materials, travel, parking, and any other extras only by prior agreement, in writing in the chat. A surprise line on the final bill is not the way.

  5. 05

    Know your limits.

If a job needs a qualification, sign-off, or specialist tool you do not have, say so and pass. Botched work is worse for everyone than no work.

  6. 06

Treat the customer’s space with respect.

Their tools, their mess, their music, their dogs, their kids. Ask first. Clean up after. Smoking, swearing, and shoes-on are local conventions — read the room.

  7. 07

Insurance and qualifications are yours to maintain.

HeroTasker does not verify these. The customer is trusting your word and what you show them. Keep your cover current and be ready to show proof when asked.

These principles sit alongside the community guidelines (which apply to both sides) and the terms of service. Repeated or serious breaches lead to account deactivation.
